How the VA Process Works (The entire process should take no more than four months (+/-) depending on the efficiency of each department).

Step 1 — Speak with your VA Primary Care Provider for a referral to dermatology (unless you are currently being seen by a specialty doctor [e.g., Oncologist, Hematologist])

Step 2 — Request a cranial prosthesis consultation from your specialty doctor to be sent to prosthetic department annually.

Step 3 — Contact JTJ Resources after step two is completed, or if you are experiencing any ‘hiccups’ in moving forward.

Step 4 — JTJ will coordinate with the Prosthetic Department on your behalf for status.

Step 5 — JTJ will coordinate a consultation time of approximately one hour to review your symptoms, take custom measurements of your head, select your choice of hair, texture, and length as well as the best wig cap design for the best comfortability.

Step 6- Return to JTJ for final fitting, preparations for pre-installation and final installation. Receive proper maintenance and wear hands-on training and instructions for your customized prosthetic.
